I am a Leeds-based artist, documenting music and nightlife through photography, video and screenprinting.

I started my practice as a university student struggling with her mental health after the effects of lockdown, craving the feeling of freedom, and connection from nights out, but not quite knowing how to find it. Inspired by artists such as Wolfgang Tillmans, Nan Goldin and Abdi Alasow, I used my camera to interrogate and celebrate post-lockdown nightlife culture - the spaces it occupies, the motifs that reoccur and the feelings it emulates.

Since then, my work has continued to emphasise the significance of these spaces regarding identity formation, scene-building and individual well-being. I hope to spark conversations about their endless functions, as well as the increasing fragility of community-focused, independent venues.

At a time when we are supposedly lonelier than ever, having the space to enjoy and create music and art and to dance with friends (both old and new) should be celebrated as a sacred and amazing experience.
